Description

Overview

Rising from the blue Caribbean Sea, Atlantis seems cut from the fabric of a dream—and now it’s bigger and better than ever. In addition to new and renovated accommodations, the resort’s immersive programming focuses on forging connections between vacationers and the people, history, art, food and festivities of the Bahamas.

If you’re looking for ultra-luxury, look no further than The Cove or The Reef. Bringing the whole family along? The newly renovated Coral Towers will have everyone in tune with the island’s vibe. Enjoy the heartbeat of the resort and stay at the Royal Towers, or make the most of the laidback Caribbean atmosphere at the Beach Tower.

Let’s talk about Aquaventure. This almost-too-good-to-be-true waterscape is packed with thrilling slides, river rides, pools and white sand beaches. Yes. All of it. Want to perfect your aquatic form before taking on the Leap of Faith that rushes you down the slope of a Mayan Temple? Take notes from the fish and dolphins that call the marine habitat and Dolphin Cay home. We’re pretty sure the dolphins have the whole graceful-in-the-water thing down pat. When you visit Dolphin Cay, on top of making new flippered friends, you’ll be contributing to environmental conservation with the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation.

When you’re ready to let the waterslides catch their breath, there’s no reason to let the fun ebb. The little ones can enjoy Atlantis Kids Adventures, and even the most stubborn teens will have a blast at CRUSH—the resort’s exclusive teen club. And don’t forget about the Caribbean’s largest casino, a challenging golf course and a myriad of duty-free shopping options. Hungry? The resort’s 40 dining options will satisfy your adventurous cravings with world-class fine dining or quick bites in the breeze. Bring on the Bahamas.

Rooms
Atlantis Paradise Island offers more than 3,000 guestrooms in multiple buildings. Accommodations range from family-friendly guestrooms in the Coral and Beach Towers to luxurious suites at The Cove. All rooms at this Caribbean resort include air conditioning, cable TVs, minibars, coffee/tea makers, and in-room safes. Most rooms have balconies or patios.

Amenities
Atlantis resort is located on Paradise Island, which connects to Nassau by bridge. Fourteen exhibit lagoons are on site (lighted at night) covering 140 acres with 50,000 fish and sea creatures (200 species). Dolphin Cay contains nearly seven million gallons of sea water within three lagoons surrounded by a white-sand beach. The on-site Mandara Spa offers massages, facials, body treatments, and salon services (surcharge).

Wireless Internet access is available in all lobbies and pool areas for a daily fee. A complimentary shuttle between the resort towers is available. Additional amenities at this Bahamas resort include (surcharges apply): sauna, health club, limo or Town Car services, dry cleaning service, arcade/game room, and supervised child care/activities.

All Atlantis facilities are accessible from all three towers—Beach Tower, Coral Towers, and Royal Towers. Atlantis Royal Towers contain the Mandara Spa and casino. Adjacent are the Royal Baths Pool, the Mayan Temple Water Slides and Pool, Splashers, and Ripples Kids Pool and Slides. Also adjacent are the marine-life exhibits, Mayan Temple Predator Lagoon, Ruins Lagoon, and The Dig, an underground web of mythological Atlantis “ruins.”

Recreation
Atlantis Paradise Island offers more than 20 swimming areas including family pools, children’s pools, a lazy river for tube rides, and a saltwater lagoon for water sports. Five waterslides built into a six-story Mayan Temple include The Leap of Faith, a 60-foot, nearly vertical plunge through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon; a 48-foot corkscrew slide transporting tube riders through the Temple’s dark core; and shorter, gentler children’s slides connecting cascading pools.

Aquaventure, a 63-acre waterscape, contains more than 20 million gallons of water and features water slides, a mile-long river ride with rapids and wave surges, and special effects. Guests in inner tubes are propelled along by water escalators, waves, and water surges. Unlike traditional water slides that require the participant to leave the water and climb back to the start, Aquaventure guests never have to leave the water as they are propelled back up the slide tower via water conveyors.

The on-site sports center features six lighted clay and hard-surface tennis courts (surcharges), a 27-yard lap pool, and a fitness facility (surcharges) with free weights, cardio and weight machines, steam rooms, and a workout studio for aerobics, spinning, kickboxing, yoga, and Pilates (surcharges).

The Dolphin Cay Atlantis, a 14-acre dolphin habitat, is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Guests can share in the dolphins’ playful shallow water antics or experience their speed and agility first-hand in the deeper waters (surcharges).

The private Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole championship Ocean Club Golf Course is located 1.5 miles from the resort at the east end of Paradise Island (surcharges). Complimentary shuttle service to the course is available.
