The Luminous Lagoon
What is the luminous lagoon of Montego Bay?
It is considered a phenomenon by many. The Luminous Lagoon is a section of Montego Bay that glows when you touch the water or swim in it. This is not a man made attration. This is a scientific process in nature. Tiny micro organisms give off a glow that causes the night water of the Jamaica sea to give off a fluorescent bluish hue. You can swim in it. What you cannot do is see it in many other places, even in the Caribbean. The two closest Sandals resorts to the tour are the Sandals Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean resort. Believe me, there is plenty to do at the all inclusive resort, voted by many as the best in the Caribbean. Nevertheless, this is something unusual that could prove irresistible to the adventurer in all of us.
Update: More tips and information for you trip to the glistening waters of the Luminous Lagoon

- Be ready for a boat ride out to the lagoon. There could be choppy waves which could affect those prone to seasickness.
- If you do not want to get in the water have the guide put some water in a bucket and let you put your arm in there for the same “glistening” effect
- If your not a nature person, or do not revel at visiting novelties, this might not be for you
